BCIL Biotech Industrial Training Prpgramme (BITP) 2010-11


On behalf of Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, Biotech Consortium India Limited (BCIL) is implementing since last 15 years, a scheme of practical industrial training for M.Sc./M.Tech./B.E./B.Tech. Biotechnology students.

The objective of this programme is to provide industry-specific training to Biotech students for skill development and enhancing their job opportunities in biotech industry.

This BCIL BITP 2010 programme provides an opportunity to Biotech Industry for training and selecting suitable manpower.

The training period is for six months during which a trainee is paid stipend of Rs.8000/- per month and trainer company is paid a bench fee to cover the expenses for providing training.

The next batch of training will commence in October-November 2010.

Eligibility for BCIL BITP 2010

1. BTech/BE/MSc/MTech/MVSc in Molecular & Human Genetics, Molecular Biology & Biotechnology, Neurosciences, Biochemical Engineering & Biotechnology, Bio-process Technology, General/Agricultural/Industrial/Marine/Medical /Pharmaceutical/ Environmental /Plant/Food /Animal Biotechnology

2. Students with minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade at highest degree level are only eligible to apply.

3. Students who have completed their degree in the year 2009 or 2010 are only eligible to apply.

4. Students whose result of last semester/final year is not declared can also apply mentioning their marks upto the semester/year upto which result declared. The final result with original mark sheet(s) of all the semesters/years will have to be produced at the time of interview.

5. Students from Indian recognized universities can only apply.

6. A demand draft of Rs. 500/- in favour of “Biotech Consortium India Limited, New Delhi” towards non-refundable application fee along with a hard copy of the system generated acknowledgement of the application form submitted online is to be sent to: “ Mr. Manoj Gupta, Deputy Manager, Biotech Consortium India Limited (BCIL), 5th floor, Anuvrat Bhawan, 210, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg, New Delhi-110002”. Please write your application id, name, date of birth and mobile no. on the reverse side of the demand draft.

7. The last date for submission of application for BCIL BITP is 10th July 2010.

8. The application would be accepted online only.

9. Students under SC/ST/OBC/PH category will have to produce a certificate at the time of appearing for interview, if called.

10. Students from DBT supported teaching programmes called for the interview will have to produce a certificate from their course coordinator/department head that their course is supported by Department of Biotechnology.

11. Students whose applications are found to be complete and eligible in all respects and are shortlisted will only be called for the interview. Individual intimation would be sent to the shortlisted candidates for interview.
12. Students called for interview will have to bring a copy of their dissertation work.

13. Students who by their own efforts are able to obtain recommendations from companies for training may be given preference. They would also be required to undergo the selection procedure. They can bring the recommendation letter from company while coming for the interview. However, the decision of the selection committee shall be final and binding.

14. Students selected for training will have to make their own arrangements for lodging & boarding.
