NOTICE FOR MTech ADMISSION
MTech (Biotechnology)
Eligibility:
For admission to M.Tech. in Biotechnology : B.E./B.Tech. in Biotechnology or Chemical Engineering or Biochemical Engineering / Technology or Chemical Technology (Food, Pharma) or equivalent
NB:  Candidates appearing in B.E./B.Tech. (Final Semester) Examination may also apply.

  • 18 seats for each course

  • GATE qualified candidates would be preferred

  • While high GATE score will be an added advantage, admission to the programmes will be based on written test and / or personal interview.
Application Procedure:

The aspiring candidates need to apply in prescribed application form, which is available at the Institute on payment of Rs. 500/- only in cash. Forms can also be downloaded from the Institute’s website (www.heritageit.edu) and submitted along with Rs. 500/- only in cash or DD drawn in favour of "Heritage Institute of Technology" payable at Kolkata.

Last date of submission of completed Application Forms 18-06-2010 (Friday)
Publication of short listed candidates eligible to appear for the Admission Test in the Notice Board / Website of the Institute 21-06-2010 (Monday)
Date of Written Test (10:00 am to 12 noon) 25-06-2010 (Friday)
Personal Interview (10:00 am onwards) 28-06-2010 (Monday)
Publication of final list for admission 30-06-2010 (Wednesday)
Date of admission 30-06-2010 to 05.07.2010
Commencement of Session (tentative) 02-08-2010 (Monday)

Fee Structure :

Fee-structure for M.Tech. students for 2010-2011 are as follows :
Tution Fee (per semester)  (including Development Fees of Rs. 500/- p.m.)
65,000 (forBT)
Admission Fee (one time only) 10,000
Students' Council Membership Fee (one time only) 800
Library Fee including facilities for Book Bank (per semester) 1,500
Caution deposit (one time only, refundable) 12,000
Fees payble to the Institute at the time of admission 89,300 (for BT)
University Students' Development Fees payable to WBUT (one time only) (@ Rs. 500 per annum) 1,000
Total fees payable at the time of admission 90,300 (for BT)
Hostel seat rent (optional) 2,500 (per month)

  • Any other fees imposed by the WBUT or the State Govt. will be payable extra, as applicable.

  • M.Tech. students shall have to pay Rs. 51,500 (for AEIE & ChE) / 66,500 (for BT) / 71,500 (for CSE & ECE) per semester 2nd to 4th semester.
