WALK-IN-INTERVIEW
Eligible candidates are invited to attend the walk-in-interview on 27th February, 2012 between 9.30 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. for the temporary posts of Research Associates(RA), Senior Research Fellows(SRF) & Junior Research Fellows(JRF) to work under the ad-hoc research projects sanctioned to Directorate of Rice Research, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad.
1. ICAR project on “National Initiative on Climate Resilient Agriculture(NICRA)”. Duration: Up to 31.3.2012 and likely to be extended further.
i.Senior Research Fellow(1 post : Plant Breeding):
Essential Qualifications (EQ): M.Sc.(Ag) with specialization in Plant Breeding & Genetics of M.Sc botany with specialization in Plant Breeding and Genetics from a recognized University.
Desirable Qualifications: Candidates with field experience in rice Breeding. Familiarity with Biotechnology tools Knowledge in computer skills with data management.
Emoluments: Consolidated pay of Rs.16, 000/-p.m. plus HRA.
ii. Senior Research Fellow(1 post: Microbiology):
Essential Qualifications(EQ): M.Sc.,(Ag) with specialization in Microbiology/M.Sc Botany with specialization in microbiology/ pathology/nematology.
Desirable Qualifications: Candidates with experience in isolation and characterization of microbes. Familiarity with Biotechnology tools Knowledge in computer skills with data management. Emoluments: Consolidated pay of Rs.16, 000/-p.m. plus HRA.
iii. Senior Research Fellow(1 post: Entomology):
Essential Qualifications(EQ): M.Sc. in Agriculture/M.Sc. Life Sciences from any recognized University including the following areas of specialization i.e. Entomology/Zoology/Pathology.
Desirable Qualifications: a)Field experience in rice with knowledge in insect pest management b) Germplasm handling and maintenance & c)Experience in conducting experiments in field studies, CSIR/NET qualified candidates will be given preference.
Emoluments: Consolidated pay of Rs.16, 000/-p.m. plus HRA
2.DBTs FGR Ph-II sub-project 4A .Duration 1 year and extendable further.
i.Research Associate (1 post):
Essential Qualifications (EQ): Ph.D. or M.Sc., degree in Agriculture/Any brnch of Life Sciences from any recognized university with specialization in insect/plant molecular biology with three years research experience as evidenced by publications.
Desirable: Preference will be given to those with publications in reputed journals and CSIR/NET qualified candidates.
Emoluments: Consolidated pay of 23,000/- p.m. plus HRA for M.Sc. & Rs.24,000/-p.m. plus HRA for Ph.D. Degree.
3. DBT project on “Characterization and use of EMS induced mutants of rice variety Nagina 22 for yield, drought tolerance and phosphorous use efficiency”. Duration: 1 year & extendable further.
i.Research Associate (1 post):
Essential Qualifications (EQ):Ph.D/(M.Sc. + 3 years research experience) in Plant Sciences/Genetics & Plant Breeding/Biotechnology from any recognized universities.
Desirable Qualifications: NET qualified, publications in reputed journals, experience in use of molecular markers, QTL analysis ,bioinformatics, field work experience, interest in physiology and biochemistry.
Emoluments: Rs.24,000/-p.m. plus HRA for Ph.D. and Rs.23,000/-p.m. plus HRA for M.Sc.+ 3 years experience.
4.DBT Bio-Care project entitled “Conversion of elite partial restorers among the rice cultivars into restorers into restorers by marker-assisted introgression of major fertility restorer genes, Rf4 & Rf3”.
duration: 1 year & extendable further.
i.Senior Research Fellow (1 post):
Essential Qualifications (EQ): M.Sc.(Ag) in Genetics & Plant Breeding/Plant Biotechnology or M.Sc. in Botany/Genetics from any recognized University with one year experience.
Desirable Qualifications:
a)Experience in conducting field experiments and knowledge on hybrid rice breeding
b)Experience in use of molecular markers c)Knowledge of computer applications and skills.
Emoluments: Rs.14,000/-p.m. plus HRA
5.DBT project on “Establishment of National Rice Resource Database (ENRRD)”.
Duration: 1 year & extendable further.
i.Research Associate (1 post):
Essential Qualifications (EQ):M.Sc.(Ag) in Genetics & Plant Breeding/Plant Genetic Resources OR M.Sc. in Botany/Genetics from any recognized universities with 3 years of experience. Desirable Qualifications: a) Experience in conducting field experiments, b) knowledge of statistical procedures, c) knowledge of computer applications and skills. Work involves field evaluation of 3000-4000 germplasm lines of rice ad data recording and maintenance of data base for all the lines.. Emoluments: Rs.22,000/-p.m. plus HRA
6.ICAR project DUS
i.Senior Research Fellow(1 post):
Essential Qualifications (EQ): M.Sc. in Botany/Genetics/Life Sciences or M.Sc. in Agricultural Sciences with specialization in Genetics and Plant Breeding or Plant Genetic Resources from any of the recognized University.
Desirable Qualifications: i) Experience in conducting the field experiments of Agricultural Crops preferably cereals/Characterization and documentation of Germplasm, ii) Experience in data. Emoluments: Consolidated pay of Rs.16,000/-p.m. plus HRA.
7.DBT project entitled “Exploitation of RNAi technology for management of yellow stem borer in rice”.
duration: 1 year & extendable further.
i.Senior Research Fellow(1 post):
Essential Qualifications (EQ): M.Sc. in Botany/Genetics or M.Sc. in Agricultural Sciences with specialization in Genetics and Plant Breeding or SEED TECHNOLOGY or Plant Genetic Resources from any of the recognized University.
Desirable Qualifications: i) Experience in conducting the field experiments of Agricultural Crops preferably ceareals/Characterization and documentation of Germplasm, ii) Good knowledge of computer applications. Work involves conducting DUS trials of several rice varieties, recording of large number of characters in the field and lab, and data maintenance.
Emoluments: Consolidated pay of Rs.14,000/-p.m. plus HRA.
8.DBT project entitled “Identification and molecular mapping of a novel neck blast resistance gene(s) from local landraces and introgression lines of Oryza: Duration: 1 year & extendable further.
i.Senior Research Fellow(1 post):
Essential Qualifications (EQ): M.Sc. or M.Sc.(Ag) with specialization in Plant Breeding/Plant Pathology/Genetics/Biotechnology/Plant Molecular Biology/Plant sciences/Life sciences with two years of research experience.
Desirable Qualifications: 2 years research experience in crop genetics/breeding/plant pathology/biotechnology is evidenced by publications and/or reference letters. Work experience in rice biotechnology/breeding/genetics/pathology will be preferred. Emoluments: Consolidated pay of Rs.14,000/-p.m. plus HRA.
ii.Junior Research Fellow(1 post):
Essential Qualifications (EQ): M.Sc. or M.Sc.(Ag) with specialization in Plant Breeding/Plant Pathology/Genetics/Biotechnology/Plant Molecular Biology/Plant sciences/Life sciences.
Desirable Qualifications: 6 months – 1 year research experience in biotechnology, crop genetics/breeding/plant pathology/as evidenced by publications and/or reference letters. Work experience in rice biotechnology/breeding/genetics/ pathology will be preferred.
Emoluments: Consolidated pay of Rs.12,000/-p.m. plus HRA.
9.DBT project entitled “Metabolic and molecular profiling of aromatic rice germplasm of India for gaining insights about aroma”. Duration: 1 year & extendable further.
i.Senior Research Fellow(1 post):
Essential Qualifications (EQ): M.Sc.(Ag) with specialization in Plant Breeding/Genetics/Biotechnology/Plant Molecular Biology/Plant sciences/Life sciences or M.Sc. Botany with specialization in Biotechnology with two years of research experience.
Desirable Qualifications: 2 years research experience in crop genetics/biotechnology/breeding as evidenced by publications and/or reference letters. Work experience in rice biotechnology/breeding/genetics will be preferred. Emoluments: Consolidated pay of Rs.14,000/-p.m. plus HRA.
ii.Junior Research Fellow (1 post):
Essential Qualifications (EQ): M.Sc.(Ag) with specialization in Plant Breeding/Genetics/Biotechnology/Plant sciences or M.Sc. Botany with specialization in Biotechnology.
Desirable Qualifications: 6 months – 1 year research experience in Breeding/biotechnology as evidenced by publications and/or reference letters. Work experience in rice field experimentation. Sound knowledge in computer skills for data management.
Emoluments: Consolidated pay of Rs.12,000/-p.m. plus HRA.
10.DST Fast Track project entitled “Marker Assisted Recurrent Selection (MARS) for improvement of biotic stress resistance in hybrid rice”. Duration: 1 year & extendable further.
i.Junior Research Fellow(1 post):
Essential Qualifications (EQ): M.Sc.(Ag) in Genetics & Plant Breeding/Plant Biotechnology or M.Sc. in Botany/Genetics from any recognized universities with one year experience.
Desirable Qualifications: a)Experience in conducting field experiments nd knowledge on hybrid rice breeding, Population Improvement, Resistance breeding, b)Experience in use of molecular markers & c)Knowledge of computer applications and skills.
Emoluments: Consolidated pay of Rs.12,000/-p.m. plus HRA for 1st & 2nd year and Rs.14,000/-p.m. plus HRA for 3rd year.
Age: Below 35 years for men and 40 years for women for JRF & SRF and below 40 years for men and 45 years for women for RA as on 27.2.2012 (age relaxation up to 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates available as per rule)
1. No Objection Certificate from the present employer is must if already working.
2. The above positions are purely temporary/contractual and are to co-terminus with the project.
3. There is no provision of re-employment after termination of the project.
4. No TA/DA will be paid to any candidate for attending the interview.
5. Canvassing in any form will lead to cancellation of candidature.
6. The decision of Project Director, DRR would be final and binding in all aspects.
7. The candidates must bring the original certificates and attested copies of educational qualifications, age & caste at the time of interview for verification. No candidate will be allowed for interview without original certificates.
