CIFT Cochin Fish Biochemistry SRF Walk In

WALK-IN-INTERVIEW

Eligible candidates are invited to attend a walk-in-Interview with all relevant documents for 6 (six) position of Research Fellows (on contractual basis) to work in the project “Myctophid Resource Assessment in the Arabian Sea and Development of Harvest and Post-Harvest Technologies for their utilisation “ funded by the CMLRE, Ministry of Earth Sciences at the CIFT, Cochin. The duration of the project is five years. The project involves fishing participation in cruises of FORV Sagar Sampada, CIFT research vessels and commercial fishing boats.

1.

Sr. Research Fellow – 3 posts (GROUP A)

Fellowship : Rs. 16,000/- pm (consolidated) + 20 % HRA

Qualification: MFSc/ F.RM. (Fishing Technology/Fisheries Engineering)/ M.Sc (Industrial Fisheries/

Marine Biology /Fisheries).

Desirable : NET qualification / experience in Sea fishing; Proficiency in data handling and statistical analysis; Proficiency in axonomy of fishes; Proficiency in computer applications such as AutoCAD,

Corel Draw & GIS.

Sr. Research Fellow – 1 post (GROUP B)

Fellowship : Rs. 16,000/- pm (consolidated) + 20 % HRA

Qualification: M.Sc (Fish Biochemistry/Biochemistry/Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry/Industrial Fisheries)

MFSc (Fish Processing Technology/Post Harvesting Technology)/

Desirable : NET qualified /experience in instrumental analysis/ Experience in analysis of fish and fishery products for biochemical and microbiological parameters; Proficiency in Computer Applications and data analysis; Seagoing experience.

Jr. Research Fellow – 2 posts (GROUP C)

Fellowship : Rs. 12,000/- pm (consolidated) + 20 % HRA

Qualification: M.F.Sc (Fish Processing Technology/Post Harvest Technology)

M.Sc (Industrial Fisheries/Biochemistry/Aquaculture and Fishery Microbiology).

Desirable : NET qualified /experience in Fish Processing Technology; Experience in analysis of fish and fishery products for biochemical and microbiological parameters; Proficiency in Computer applications and data analysis; Sea going experience.

Terms & Conditions:

1. Registration will begin at 9.00 a.m

2. Registration will close at 11.30 am

3. Age limit (as on 15.02.2013) : Below 35 years for men and 40 years for women.

4. Candidates should possess 1st class or 60% marks or equivalent overall GPA.

5. Age relaxation of 3 year for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates is permissible.

6. Candidate must be willing to travel widely.

7. Candidates are required to submit attested copies of all the Certificates in support of their claims regarding age, educational qualifications, etc. The original certificates shall be produced for verification before the interview.

8. Candidates should bring detailed bio-data affixing a recent passport size photograph.

9. The selected candidate will be recruited on contract basis under ICAR norms. The post is purely temporary and is co-terminus with the project.

10. The candidates attending the interview should ensure that they fulfil all the eligibility conditions. No correspondence will be entertained from the candidates for selection/test/appointment.

11. No TA/DA will be paid to attend the interview.

12. Canvassing in any form will render the candidate disqualified for the post.

13. The Director’s decision will be final and binding in all aspects regarding the selection to the post.
