A Walk-in-interview for project based purely temporary positions will be held at G B Pant
Institute of Himalayan Environment and Development, Kosi-Katarmal, Almora on August 12, 2014 (Tentative). The positions are initially for 1 year the term of which is extendable based on the annual review of the performance, till termination of the project. The eligible desirous candidates with a copy of their application, and a complete set of CV, attested copies of all degrees, certificates and mark-sheets along with their originals, should report at the institute office at 10:30 am. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

1. 1. Junior Research Fellow (JRF) – 01 post

(In-house Project – Climate Change Impacts on Ecosystem Services in Indian Himalayan Region)

- Emoluments @12,000/- per month fixed + HRA (Rs 16,000/- + HRA for NET/ GATE qualified)

*Age: Not exceeding 28 yr on date of interview

- Extensive survey work (socio-economic and field survey) in remote and difficult areas of Himalayan mountain areas, data Synthesis, and Report work - Organization of field level events (meetings /workshops etc.)

Essential: First class Masters degree in Botany, Forestry, Zoology, Natural Resource/ Environmental Management, Geography, Economics or Equivalent

Desirable: Knowledge of computers , experience in household/ socio-economic survey

2. 2. Field Assistant -01 Post

(In-house Project –Ecotourism for Sustainable Livelihood and Biodiversity Conservation in Indian Himalayan Region)

- Emoluments: @8,000/- per month fixed

*Age: Not exceeding 32 yr on date of interview

- extensive travelling and survey work in high altitude remote areas

- Data entry, compilation, and field/ lab assistance

Essential: Bachelors degree in science/ social science/ commerce

Desirable: Experience in the field of tourism/ household and questionnaire survey work; computer literacy and workable knowledge of data compilation

* Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PH/Women candidates will be applicable as per Govt. norms
