Job description
Traditionally, academic curriculum is designed with an emphasis on theoretical knowledge and is more suited to guide the students towards higher education. Students who are coming out of this conventional educational system often face a prolonged lag period upon their industry assignment. Moreover, the students who are taught by the staff of conventional teaching system cannot get the knowledge on the perspectives of the commercial entities. This creates a large gap between the academic curriculum and the industry requirement. This problem is being addressed in this career enhancement programme by initiating an industry-oriented, practical hands-on-training programme for the graduates of Biotechnology who are interested to build a career in the Animal Biotechnology sector. The training domains would cater to specific requirements pertaining to the Animal Biotech industry and thereby aiming to serve as a driver for this growing sector. The students of this programme would become better equipped with enhanced Employability Quotient (EQ) to handle industry assignments and thereby improve their career opportunities. This would catalyze the growth of this nascent sector ultimately fulfilling the needs of farmers and other stake holders of this industry.
Stipend
A consolidated sum of rupees ten thousands (Rs.10,000/-) per month will be provided as a stipend for each selected candidate
Qualifications
Eligibility criteria
• Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply
• Candidates should have a first class post graduate degree either in
- M. V. Sc. Animal / Veterinary Biotechnology or other relevant disciplines
- M.E. / M. Tech in Electronics and Instrumentation; Biomedical Engineering; Biotechnology; Food technology, Genetic Engineering; Materials Science or other relevant disciplines
- M.Sc. Animal Biotechnology/ Biotechnology / Medical Microbiology
or other relevant disciplines
• 30% of seats will be reserved for biotech-industry nominated candidates.
• If there is not enough industry nominated candidates, the seats will be filled from general pool.
