One Year Advanced Diploma in Bioinformatics ( 2009-10)

ADMISSION NOTIFICATION

Applications are invited in plain paper for the academic session 2009-2010 for the admission to One Year Advanced Diploma course in Bioinformatics in the Department of Biophysics, Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics.

Eligibility Criteria

A candidate who has passed two-year MSc Examination or equivalent of this or its equivalent University with a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate in the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Physiology, Biophysics and Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics and Biophysics, Biochemistry, Statistics, Computer Science, Pure or Applied Mathematics, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Environmental Science, Electronic Science, Genetics or a BE/B Tech degree in Computer Science, Applied Physics, Radio-Physics and Electronics, Chemical Technology, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Pharmaceutical Engineering, B Pharm, Biomedical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or an MBBS degree or its equivalent from Medical Faculty with at least 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology/Statistics in the higher Secondary or its equivalent examination would be eligible to sit for the admission test.

The Admission Test will be based on a written examination of one hour duration wherein the students will have to answer questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and Computer Literacy (pertaining to 12th standard). The final selection will be based solely on the performance in the admission test.

Fellowship for students:
Some of the selected students will be eligible to receive a consolidated stipend @ Rs 3000/- per month. Those who have already qualified the NET/GATE before the admission would receive a consolidated stipend @ 5000/- per month.
