DuPont Agricultural Biotechnology Research group at DuPont Knowledge Center, Hyderabad, INDIA, is engaged in discovery research aimed towards developing new and improved crops. Active research in diverse areas of plant molecular biology and crop biotechnology carried out by a talented and interdisciplinary group of scientists who work collaboratively with other research locations worldwide. We are looking for energetic scientists with skills and expertise in plant molecular biology/ biotechnology who can establish and lead new and innovative avenues of research.

Job Description

Scientist will be responsible for developing a research plan for new projects, designing experiments and executing the research plan with the assistance of associates and collaborators.

Responsibilities

1.The primary responsibility will be to design and execute research projects in the area of vector construction, tissue culture and molecular characterization of transgenic plants.

2.Successful Candidate will train and manage Research Associate and assistant to conduct molecular experiments and troubleshoot and work on bench to demonstrate or establish new techniques.

3.Ensure safe work practices and work towards improvement of protocols and working conditions.

4.Successful candidate will work closely with counterpart functional groups within the company to effectively share the knowledge.

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies and Experience

Ph.D. degree in Plant Molecular Biology or related field with 2-4 years of post-doctoral experience in a reputed lab working on Plant Molecular Biology projects. Additionally some experience in tissue culture for transformation and/or haploid production in any major crop are highly desirable.

1.Must be able to conceptualize new projects and develop research plans to achieve the stated objectives

2.Must have demonstrated scientific competence as evidenced by peer reviewed publications/patents

3.Must have the people skills to lead associates and establish fruitful collaborations with research groups in different geographies

4.Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

5.Good organizational and multi-tasking abilities. Ability to meet deadlines.
